It finally happened

After two years and 26,000 miles or so, my Leaf has just lost its very first bar of battery capacity.
I was wondering when it would happen. I have a round trip commute of about 50 miles which often extends to 60 miles and I am not driving an EV to drive like a 90-year-old granny.

Will the Tesla Model ☰ be built like this?

After lots of interesting developments since the Tesla Model preview V1 event, the thought occurred to me that Tesla is about to change the auto industry again.
When the Model was first shown to the public and the dust settled, it was obvious that Tesla (Elon?) had decided that they would be installing all the hardware needed for both Supercharging and Autopilot. This seemed normal at the time because that is how Model S is delivered.

Replacing my LEAF

Still have another year to run with my Leaf, but the boy scout in me means that I’m getting ready for when I have to hand him back.
In my last article I rambled (that is the title of the blog after all) on about what worked and what didn’t regarding my Leaf ownership.
While reading it back a while later I noticed that I mostly rambled in a negative way, but today I’m a little more positive.

Two Years with the LEAF

Coming up on my two-year anniversary with my Leaf and thought it would be interesting to look over how driving electric has gone.
Overall pretty good although it hasn’t been exactly smooth sailing.
